AN X Factor-inspired course designed to jazz up the dry subject of business studies went on show today at Glasgow college.
And the MacDonald Brothers, two finalists from the popular talent search show, have backed the Enterprise Thru Music initiative and unveiled it.
The course has been put together by Stow College and teaches students how to run their own record label.
It takes 15 to 17-year-olds through the whole process, from picking acts to recording songs and distributing the finished product.

And it could produce an army of fledgling Simon Cowells because X Factor-style auditions form part of the course.
It has been trialled at around eight schools in the Glasgow area.
The course was showcased at the college today as it was offered to other institutions, who will be able to buy it from Stow.
Gordon Campbell, college enterprise co-ordinator, said: "If you talk to young people in schools about business and enterprise, it is a bit of a switch-off.
"By putting the word business with music, it becomes a whole different ball game. It becomes exciting and dynamic."
Through such activities as writing press releases and designing a marketing campaign, they also hone their English and communication skills, Mr Campbell said.
The announcement comes ahead of the X Factor live show, when stars from the show appear at Glasgow's SECC on Sunday and Monday.
The Macs are planning in doing a select number of Christmas concerts in November / December. More details to follow!
The MacDonald Bros have recorded a few live gigs from previous tours as Im sure you are all well aware. The live album is being mixed this week and will be available to download exclusively from the website very soon.
Lookout for special mixes of existing MacDonald Bros material (including dance mixes) which will be available on I Tunes soon. More details to follow!
New specail mix of "You Can Always Come Home Son" being promoted in Spring and available on download, plus exclusive video viewing of the track for "Homecoming"
Homecoming Scotland 2009 celebrates the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns’ birth with a year-long programme of events across the country. West FM and West Sound are celebrating the event by playing the very best music by Scottish acts and asked for your top three favourite Scottish songs.
The MacDonald Bros own version of "Ae Fond Kiss" is being heavily promoted for this years Robert Burns Celebrations. We hope to be hearing the track on a few of Scotland's radio stations and also at other events across the country as part of Scotland's Homecoming celebrations of the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns' birth.
The BBC are filming the lads on 14th January for a documentary. The Macs own documentary is expected to be aired sometime in March, so keep checking the site for more news on this!
The MacDonald Bros have been approached by the Daily Record to do a......Wait for it!!!....TOPLESS PHOTO SHOOT!!! The pics are being taken by the Daily Record this week and will be in the newspaper sometime soon, so keep your eyes peeled!!!
The MacDonald Bros have recorded a few live gigs from previous tours as Im sure you are all well aware. The live album is being put together as we speak and will be available to download exclusively from the website!
As well as the boys hopefully heading out to Australia again in the next few months to promote their next album and tour, we are in the process of setting up a brand new Scottish tour for 2009. Dates will be posted on the gigs page asap!
Good news!!
We have now been given the new date for the re-scheduled New Elgin hall gig!
And not only that...due to popular demand the guys have also added an extra date at the New Elgin Hall!
The Macs new album "Young Celts" has soared in at no.8 in the Scottish charts.
The boys are "over the moon" to be back in the Scottish top 10 with their new release. They are now taking a few days break after their mamoth World Record Attempt which saw the lads appear at 48 stores in a week. They are now awaiting news from the Guiness Book Of World Records to see whether the massive feat is recognised as a World Record.
The lads would personally like to thank all their fans for their support and look forward to seeing them at the start of their Winter tour.
We are sorry to announce that the boys 1st tour gig in New Elgin Hall has been re-scheduled due to Craig losing his voice. The lads have been attempting a World Record Attempt this week performing at roughly 10 stores per day where Craig has pushed his voice to the limit.
Doctors at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary have advised Craig to rest his voice completely for at least the next couple of days to ensure he doesn't seriously damage his vocal chords.
The boys are extremely disappointed to let everyone down and promise to put on a fantastic show when the gig is re-scheduled. More details will follow in the next couple of days when the new date will be confirmed.
Hey everyone!..........
The guys and their managment are very conscious of the fact that during the in store attempt on what we believe to be the world record the lads will be unable due to the really tight schedule to spend the time with the fans they normally do. Also during the tour as you know there is always only very limited availability for “meet and greets” .
As a way round this and to say thanks the lads receive from their fans they are going to be organizing a “Meet The Macs” night !
Details are still to be finalized but basically the guys will be taking over a venue such as a club where on a first come first served basis around 200 fans can attend a MACnificent night of entertainment.
In addition to doing a small pure acoustic set the lads will be available during a part of the evening for photos, a bit of banter and any memorabilia or photos etc you need signing.
Some of the things planned are as follows.........

Provost Denis Agnew says, “These are surely the hottest tickets in town! The Denny is a great venue for the boys to perform in.”

Hi, its Gordon the manager here!
As you know, the Macs are heading off to Australia shortly for their 1st overseas promotional trip! Its a big event for us all, especially Craig & Brian.
As you also may be aware, they jet off from Glasgow on Thursday 11th of September, on the first leg of their flight to Australia.
Lots of you have been enquiring about the time and flight the lads will be on to be at the airport to wave them off. Im sure both Brian and Craig would be pleased to see you all there for what will be a really exciting day!!
However, after consulting with airport security we have been advised that we are unable to give out flight details and exact times, except to say the lads will be departing sometime in the afternoon. This is obviously something we must adhere to as airport safety and security is the prime consideration.
We would request therefore especially as the media may be coming along, that everyone respects the airport authorities wishes and ensure the lads send off goes without a hitch!!
Thanks again for your continued support and maybe see you there on the day!
Kind Regards
Gordon

The MacDonald Brothers 2nd album 'The World Outside' is now available to PRE ORDER at www.HMV.co.uk
*News posted by Carrie on 12/8/2007*

Following on from the success of their first album the guys are already back in the studio recording their second album. The album is expected to be bigger and better than the first. In previous radio interviews the lads have said that they want to write more of their own stuff so hopefully we will be seeing more original tracks on this album as the two, the guys wrote themselves on their self titled first album were really well received by their fans.
The album will be realeased just as their Scottish tour is coming to an end so they will certainley be getting the news out there that the second MacDonald Bros album is on its way, I for one can't wait to pre order my copy!!!
Also straight from the horses mouth (sorry Brian) the lads have confirmed that there will probably only be one or two covers on their new album, which means more original great songs from the lads!!
The MacDonald Brothers have given starstruck fans the chance to appear on their next hit single - as backing singers. For those of you who were there, I think we can safely say it was a wonderful experience and a huge success.
Brothers Craig, 21, and Brian, 20, are putting the finishing touches to their second album, The World Outside, which is due for release on October 15.
And more than 30 lucky fans crammed into the Music Kitchen recording studio in Edinburgh on 26/07/2007 for the session.
All of the fans who sang on the backing track will be credited in the CD, which is to include a 30- minute documentary DVD showcasing the boys' rise to stardom.
The MacDonald Bros have recently revealed that they are to embark on their first Scottish tour this year. The tour is expected to be a complete sell out and if you have ever been to any MacDonald Bros gig you will know exactly why. The lads have a huge following especially in Scotland but it is a real shame that they haven't added a few dates to the tour outside of Scotland.
The tour will start in Langholm in August and end in their home town of Ayr at the Gaiety Theatre, we also expect the lads will be celebrating their second No.1 Album as well as the end of a sell out tour.
NEW DATE ADDED!!
Due to popular demand (are we really surprised) The MacDonald Bros have added an extra date to their forthcoming Scottish tour - "An Evening with The MacDonald Bros"
The boys will now play an extra night at the Ayr Gaiety Theatre , on Saturday 27th October 2007.
